These wondeful, handmade Spalted Sycamore boards are great for using in the kitchen, serve your food in style, then rest it up against the wall and admire it's natural beauty.
Finished using food safe oil (Walrus Oil - a mix of mineral oil and beeswax).
The boards are made from a felled local Sycamore, which was immediately kiln dried, to take out the moisture, and then air dried for a couple of years.
The spalting found in each board makes them very unique. spalting is a term describing the process by which certain Fungi grow on dead or fallen trees. Fungi colonises the wood by travelling up the wood cells from the ends or from broken off branches.
Each board measures approx 45cm long, 20cm wide, 2 - 2.5cm deep.
Due to the handmade nature of these boards, images shown are purely to illustrate an example of what you can expect to receive, your board will not be exactly as the photos show.
